How long have you been in business?
Harsco traces its roots to 1853 as the Harrisburg Car Manufacturing Company, an early producer of freight and passenger cars for the American railways. The company has been based in Harrisburg ever since, first expanding to become the Harrisburg Steel Corporation throughout the 1930s and 40s and later as Harsco Corporation in 1956.
What is your primary product or service?
Harsco operates around the world serving major industries that are fundamental to economic progress and infrastructure development. Harsco's onsite resource recovery services to the steel industry and other metal producers help improve the environment by capturing reusable materials from the by-products of steel and metals production. Our engineered scaffolding and concrete forming systems are used to build major construction projects and maintain industrial plants. Our rail group specializes in the maintenance and construction of railroad track throughout the world. And our industrial products group supports the world's growing demand for energy and energy-efficiency through a range of specialized industrial products.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?

How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We operate in more than 50 countries and at approximately 350 locations. We employ close to 20,000 people, more than half of whom live and work outside the United States.
